    Leisure Discovery Walks

    It's about discovering by walking

    • Walkin' in Tokyo's objective is to show you a slice of Tokyo daily life as if you were a long time, seasoned resident, zipping through the urban maze without hesitation. You will see more in less time.
    • These walks are for urban landscape lovers with a keen eye for the unexpected, the quaint encounters, the details that make an apparently banal environment all of sudden strike out. But if you want to go to the sea instead and taste the urban countryside, you are welcome as well.
    • Daily life means going to market places or the supermarket down the street and discover what the locals buy and eat, going to shrines around the corner, cruise the back streets that are essential features to the reality of the Tokyo landscape you don’t see on TV.
    • Walks can be thematic to meet your own interest. For example:
      • The backyard city with hidden shrines, temples and lazy paths
      • Tokyo green, focused on the city outskirt's countryside landscapes
      • Tokyo modern architecture, touring the new and developing business centers
      • Tokyo fashion streets and backstage contemporary architecture
      • Tokyo food places: Tsukiji, of course, but Ameyoko and the department stores food paradises, etc. There are plenty of ideas in the Walkin' in Tokyo Blog
    • Walks start at around 10 am and end around 3~4 pm.
    • Starting from September 2006, walks can be set up any day of the week except Monday to Wednesday.
    • Shorter walks of 2~3 hours can be designed for specific purposes like shopping during a brief stop in Tokyo, or focusing on contemporary architecture in a specific district, etc.
